Driveway Paving in Genoa, Italy
Genoa has been nicknamed la Superba ("the proud one") due to its glorious past and impressive landmarks. Often overshadowed by locations such as Rome, Milan and Venice, Genoa is the largest and most historical port in Italy.
Located in the North, the capital of the coastal region of Liguria is actually the sixth-largest city in the country.
In the birthplace of the famous explorer Christopher Columbus, SureSet’s Global Partner HiSkin went to visit a residential customer who required a makeover at the front of their property. Municipality rules state that permeable paving is required for driveways, so with the advice of HiSkin they used SureSet base product SureCell, with permeable resin bound paving installed over the top. This will then ensure the water can flow all the way through the build-up back to the natural drainage table.
Using locally sourced aggregates, HiSkin’s blend of 3mm Millifiori produced a natural finish which complemented the greenery surrounding the paving. HiSkin installed a seamless driveway incorporating stencil design work using photoluminescent Botticino and Nero Ebano to create the number ‘53’ outside the front door.
Interesting fact:
A St George’s Cross, the flag of England comes from the flag of Genoa.
The St. George's flag, a red cross on a white field, was adopted by England and the City of London in 1190 for their ships entering the Mediterranean to benefit from the protection of the Genoese fleet.
