Levanto in Lockdown

Levanto, based in the province of La Spezia is located on the coast, at the mouth of a river valley. The famous seaside resort along the Italian Riveira is also home to the famous Agnelli family; the original founders of the Fiat motor company and majority owners of Juventus F.C football club. Approximately 90km South East of Genoa (where SureSet Global Partner HiSkin is based), the project Via Dante Alighieri was designed by KK Architect of La Spezia.

The year 2020 will go down in History and has been difficult for many companies to complete work and installations around the world. As Italy struggled with the global pandemic due to COVID 19 and local lockdown, HiSkin were able to eventually get back on site after receiving authorisation from Prefettura of Genova. They installed 3,100m² of pathways and public gardens whilst the streets were unusually empty. Surrounding businesses such as cafes were closed during the installation which meant the project could be completed quicker than originally anticipated.

HiSkin’s client Queirolo S.r.l specified blend 3mm Arabescato to create a natural looking paving. Laid mostly over concrete to tile edging which breaks up the resin bound paving into sections along walkways, other areas were laid onto SureSet’s fully permeable base product SureCell. Overall a high quality, smooth finish was achieved.
