A timeline of celebrations on our 25th Anniversary

It’s a special year for our team as we celebrate the company’s 25th Anniversary this month. We’ve come a long way over the years, so we wanted to celebrate this together with YOU!
 
Introduction
Officially on March 17, 1997, the company SureSet UK Ltd was registered and our brand name SureSet Resin Bound Paving was created. Situated on the outskirts of a quaint village in Wiltshire, SureSet was founded by Peter Watts, Kevin Weston, and Michael Newton to prepare operations for selling a new innovative paving system to the residential market, known as resin bound paving. Since the very beginning of SureSet in 1997, our operations and services were in-house while continuing to develop and offer new blends to the market.

Over the years SureSet has grown into the commercial sector being specified by Architects to provide our paving product and installation services to Contractors such as SpadeOak Construction, Balfour Beaty, and Laing O’Rouke to name a few. Throughout this time, we have worked on some fantastic projects in paces across the globe including the Olympic Park in London, Manchester City's Etihad Stadium, Expo 2020 in Dubai, Car Showrooms across the US and Europe, not to mention all of the fabulous schools, colleges, and universities, as well as the thousands of resin bound driveways across the UK.

 
In 2010
We changed our branding to SureSet Permeable Paving. The industry was moving toward a more environmental approach and paving concepts needed to be viable. Although our paving materials have always been sustainable and porous by changing our brand we could emphasis the SuDS benefits that SureSet resin bound paving has.

In 2018
We added a company tagline to our branding, ‘Bound with excellence since 1997’, for a resin bound paving company to be in business for 18 years was a huge achievement for SureSet. Our market research continued to point out our excellence in numerous parts of our business from customer service, workmanship, the resin bound product itself, and everything it stood for.

Change in our company strategy
Throughout 2021 the resin bound industry was affected by many of the materials shortages which hit the construction industry, as well as many other sectors of the economy.  SureSet navigated this period by our excellent teams working closely with our long-standing suppliers to ensure the materials kept flowing, and the business could continue to supply customers. During this period the SureSet brand changed to SureSet Resin Systems to correspond with a change in our company standing of becoming a major supplier of resin which ran alongside our own installations.  This change in branding was driven by the buying behaviours of the resin bound market, and by listening to our customers who were increasingly requesting a ‘resin only’ option to allow them more control and flexibility when tendering for work.  Going forward SureSet will continue to install up and down the country, develop manufacture and supply resin bound materials, manufacture our coloured coated recycled glass in-house, and look for opportunities and quality products to enhance our portfolio

“Well, here we are 25 years since we started trading as SureSet UK Ltd. It doesn’t seem that long ago to me, but I guess that’s a lifetime to some of you! We had already been trading for some months prior as a Partnership of friends and family, with our first SureSet resin bound driveway being laid in the Autumn of 1996. The name SureSet was thought of as it reminded me of shingles on the seashore set with resin. The resin bound business has grown and changed over the years, some with bigger challenges than others! I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our employees for their hard work and dedication, you really are a great team, and to our remarkable customer base whom I’m extremely grateful to. I raise a glass and wish us all another 25 years of success!”
