Hertford College, Oxford
Hertford College is part of the University of Oxford, located on Catte Street it’s where the ‘first years’ live.
While the history of Hertford College can be traced back to the 1280’s, the present college dates from 1874.
Located in the north-east corner of the Old Buildings Quadrangle (OB Quad), the Old Hall, one of Hertford College’s oldest buildings recently underwent an extensive internal refurbishment.
With the internal refurbishment complete it was time to landscape the external area of the Old Hall - the OB Quad.
The challenge was to deliver a surface that offered modern conveniences such as permeability, low-maintenance and durability whilst maintaining the traditional look of the beautiful building.
We were contacted by Hertford College in August 2017 and we put them in touch with our Approved Installer for the area, Lockwood Landscapes Ltd.
Lockwood Landscapes specialise in hard and soft landscaping and have more than 15 years’ experience designing and installing landscapes within the educational sector.
The Norwegian Pearl resin bound pathway encompassing the OB Quad sits in perfect harmony with the Old Hall.
Skilfully installed, this SureSet footpath delivers a durable, accessible, low-maintenance surface that, with a little care, will last as long as 25 years.
