Vodafone, HQ
Vodafone made the first ever mobile phone call in January 1985 from London to their Head Office at Newbury HQ.
Fast forward 32 years and, still located in Newbury, Vodafone now employ over 13,000 people across the UK and operate in 26 countries. At Newbury Head Office there are around 2,000 car parking spaces which are used by both staff and visitors.
The multi-storey building housing the 2,000 or so parking spaces is located a short walk from Vodafone offices.
The pathways were asphalt and grass – not particularly pretty or practical.
What was needed was something that not only portrayed the right image for a global Company, but was accessible, easy to keep clean and would not encourage dirt and water to be walked into the building – so SureSet permeable paving fitted the brief perfectly!
Our relationship with Vodafone began in 2015 when we were contact by the main contractor J Coffey Construction with regard to installing a 25m² resin bound pathway.
With the installation of permeable resin bound paving to the pathways and steps, Vodafone staff benefit from an accessible, puddle free surface from which to go to and from the car park to the office.
Not only is the surface practical, it looks fantastic with the Barley Beach natural aggregate delivering a surface that looks equally as stunning when bathed in sunshine as it does with a covering of autumn leaves.
